Air India as an airline holds a great amount of symbolic value. The erstwhile flag carrier, however, has always had an image problem. The company has suffered because of its infamously outdated services and grotty standards. This was expected to transition under the new (and old) owners, the Tata Group.
Never Again, Air India
This, however, has not come to pass, at least, as of yet. The The airline was transferred to Tata Groups in 2022. In these two years, there have myriad incidents exposing the inefficiencies of the airline that have emerged.
American vlogger Drew Binsky, with millions of followers on his social media profiles, took to Instagram to talk about an experience with Air India, which falls in line with the company’s recent standards or lack of them.
He took to his Instagram to share a funny reel on his experience, summing up, what he described as the ‘worst business class experience of his life’.
The Business Class That Wasn’t
In thsi video, he enumerated and thereby touched up each aspect of the services offered by Air India.
Binsky was on an Air India flight from the British capital, London to the Amritsar in Punjab.
Acording to him, the seats in the Business Class seat did not recline.
Facilities, including the chair and drawer, were broken. He alleged that the food served to him was served on a pillow, and his food was egregiously covered in hair.
Dirt and Filth All-Around
He complained of filth and dirt everywhere in the flight. In addition, the entertainment system in the flight was not operational. The screen, he quipped, felt as though, was from 1985.
The food, according to him, had hair on it. In addition, the personal care pack only had a single lotion. |
The WiFi system, according to Binsky also was not functional. This upgrade to Business class cost him USD 750 or Rs 63,676.
In the post, Binsky added a caption, in which he added, “Worst business class experience of my life the other day on @airindia from London to Amritsar. I had to eat on a hair-infested pillow!!! Can you believe I paid $750 to upgrade for this? I’ll never be flying Air India again!! “
