Final orders have been given in this regard. The respective agencies of the Government of India are currently verifying the details of the nationality of these individuals. However, the government has not received any information from the Donald Trump administration about the total number of illegal migrants holding Indian passports. Since January 2025, a total of 388 Indian citizens have been sent back to India after verification of their nationality.
America responded to handcuffs
It is noteworthy that in February, more than 100 illegal Indian immigrants expelled from the US were sent back to India with handcuffs, causing a lot of controversy. Now Jaishankar said about this, ‘We had expressed our concerns to America about this. After which the US said that handcuffs are used to ensure the safety of deported people. However, women and minors are usually not handcuffed. ‘
Earlier, four aircraft brought back Indian migrants.
It is noteworthy that while Indians living illegally in the US are being sent back, before that four aircraft have been sent back to India. In which 12 Indian migrants were sent back on 23 February. Earlier, three American aircraft brought back to the Indian aircraft from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and some other states had sent back the Indians. The aircraft landed at Amritsar Airport with 104 on February 5, 119 on 15 February and 112 Indians on 16 February.
