The people of Bangladesh protested violently and toppled Sheikh Hasina’s government. After which violence against Hindus started in Bangladesh. Amidst these violence, Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh was called by Sullivan of America on the recommendation of Indian-origin American Democratic Congress member Mr. Thanedar.

 

No one is unaware of the violence against minorities in Bangladesh. America has also kept its eyes on the recent attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh. US National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan on Monday spoke to the interim government’s chief advisor Mohammad Yunus and raised the issue of Hindu security. Mr Thanedar urged the White House to strongly raise the issue of killing of Hindus and destruction of their temples in Bangladesh.

Phone calls from the US are mixed

As soon as the call came from America, Yunus’ tone also changed. US National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan spoke on human rights to Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the current interim government of Bangladesh. Yunus expressed his commitment to the defense of human rights in Bangladesh along with Sullivan. Sullivan also assured US support for Bangladesh’s development and challenges.

America’s phone gave this message to Bangladesh

Sullivan’s conversation took place in the last months of the Biden administration. Due to which this message is sent that the Trump administration coming to the White House will not allow Yunus to do as per his wish. Sullivan’s call came days after Indian-origin American Democratic Congressman Thanedar’s demand. Thanedar also requested the White House to strongly raise the issue of killing of Hindus and destruction of their temples in Bangladesh.

The call was made following the recommendation of Thanedar, an Indian-origin American Democratic Congress member.

Raising the issue of Bangladeshi Hindus, Thanedar said that America has a glorious history of helping the victims and the violence in Bangladesh is no different from it. He appealed that the US should strive to fulfill its promise to Bangladesh Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus to restore peace and rebuild the nation on the principles of equality and justice.
