South superstar Allu Arjun’s team has reacted to the death of a woman due to stampede which took place during Pushpa 2’s special screening in Hyderabad on Wednesday night (December 4). For those unversed, Allu Arjun decided to attend the screening of the film at Sandhya Theatre in RTC Crossroads where his ardent fans went berserk to see the actor, and it resulted into a stampede situation.

According to media reports, as hundreds of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, the main gate of the theatre collapsed and it led to a massive stampede. Local cops resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.

On Thursday, reacting to the stampede, Allu Arjun’s team said that the incident was ‘really unfortunate’. According to Telugu Scribe, Allu Arjun’s team stated that they will provide the necessary help to the family.

The producers of Pushpa 2, Mythri Movie Makers, issued an official statement on the incident on X. “We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night’s screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment,” they wrote.

“We are committed to standing by them and extending all possible support during this difficult time,” the statement further read.

Reacting to it, Rashmika wrote, “I am so sorry to hear this..”

Woman killed, son injured in stampede

The release of Pushpa 2 turned into a nightmare for a family after a Hyderabad woman, Revathi, died and her child was seriously injured due to a stampede. Reports have stated that the incident occurred at 10:30 pm at Sandhya Theatre.

They were rushed to the hospital, but the 39-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries. The child is currently undergoing treatment but his condition is reported to be critical.

As the crowd kept swelling and becoming unmanageable, the police deployed at the venue also resorted to lathicharge, locals said.

While the release of Pushpa 2 was deemed to be a celebration for Allu Arjun’s fans, the incident has now cast a pall of gloom on the film as it officially hit the theatres.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 will see Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprise their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, respectively.

After the mammoth success of Pushpa: The Rise, the makers are expecting an even bigger and better response for the sequel, which has generated immense buzz, not just in South but across the country, and even abroad.
