Seems like there is no end to controversies surrounding Allu Arjun and his film, Pushpa 2. As the actor is embroiled in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, the makers dropped a song Dammunte Pattukora online, which grabbed eyeballs over its controversial lyrics. As netizens questioned the timing of the song’s release, the makers have now taken it down from YouTube.
On Tuesday, T-Series released the song Dammunte Pattukora from Pushpa 2 on YouTube, and it came under the scanner for its lyrics, which stated, “If you’ve got the guts, catch me, Shekhawat!” In the film, the song seems to be a challenge by Allu Arjun’s character, Pushpa, to Fahadh Faasil’s cop character, Shekhawat.
Questioning the timing of the song’s release, netizens wondered if it was a jibe at the police and judiciary by the actor, who was arrested in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, and was later granted bail.
For those unversed, a woman was killed in a massive stampede outside Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4 when Allu Arjun decided to attend the special screening of Pushpa 2 with his fans. The late woman’s minor son is currently battling for his life in the hospital.
Allu Arjun was booked in the stampede case, and he was arrested on December 13. The actor managed to secure bail on the same day, and he walked out free the next day after spending a night in jail.
The actor has promised to look after the medical expenses of the minor who is undergoing treatment at the hospital, and his father, Allu Aravind, also announced financial support of Rs 2 crore for the injured child.
