Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun was arrested from his Hyderabad residence on Friday morning in the Sandhya theatre stampede case that occurred during the special premiere of Pushpa 2 on December 4. The stampede led to a woman losing her life and her child is now critical in a hospital.
A video of the actor’s arrest has now gone viral in which he can be seen interacting with the cops and objecting to the manner in which he was arrested. He said that while he was ready to cooperate with the police, it was not right to take him into custody from his bedroom. “Coming here and taking me is not a problem, sir. But stepping into the bedroom is a bit too much. I am telling you, this isn’t a good thing,” he told a police official.
He also requested the cops to let him finish his breakfast before being escorted away and can be seen laughing and sipping coffee in the viral videos.
Allu Arjun also interacted with his wife, Sneha, and consoled her. He was seen giving her a peck on her cheek and whispering something, before walking away with the police.
Allu Arjun was booked by the Hyderabad police after his arrival at the Sandhya theatre on December 4 led to a massive stampede, and a woman was trampled to death, with her son being critical. He reportedly arrived at the theatre without prior intimation for the premiere show of Pushpa 2, and chaos ensued at the spot.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun grieved the loss of the female fan and promised to pay Rs 25 lakh to the bereaved family, along with covering all their medical expenses. “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally,” he wrote on X.
