Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has landed in trouble after a woman was killed in stampede outside a Hyderabad theatre during a special screening of Pushpa 2. It has now been reported that the actor will be charged for the stampede. Allu Arjun has not reacted to the incident yet.

According to a report in NDTV, Allu Arjun will be charged for the stampede as he arrived at the theatre without prior intimation for the premiere show of Pushpa: The Rule.

In a statement, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand reportedly said that besides Allu Arjun, the management of Sandhya Theatre, where the stampede happened, will also be charged for not making “additional provisions” regarding security to manage the crowd.

“There was no intimation from the side of theatre management or actors team that they will be visiting the theatre,” the Police Commissioner said. He also stated that there was no designated entry or exit for the actor and his team, despite the theatre management being informed in advance about their arrival.

For those unversed, Allu Arjun decided to attend the screening of the film at Sandhya Theatre in RTC Crossroads where his ardent fans went berserk to see the actor, and it resulted into a stampede. As hundreds of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, the main gate of the theatre collapsed. Local cops resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.

Earlier today, Allu Arjun’s team reacted to the death of a woman due to the stampede. According to Telugu Scribe, Allu Arjun’s team called the incident ‘really unfortunate’ and stated that they will provide the necessary help to the family.

The producers of Pushpa 2, Mythri Movie Makers, also issued an official statement on the incident on X. “We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night’s screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment,” they wrote.

“We are committed to standing by them and extending all possible support during this difficult time,” the statement further read.
