Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The story behind the murder of two women in Aishbagh area by an ASI, which rocked the city on Tuesday, is that of revenge and hatred. One of the women was his wife and the other sister-in-law. The clue to the crime the police officers, inquiring into the case hit upon sends chills down the spine of anyone.
Sources in the police department said ASI Yogesh Marawi also wanted to polish off a sub-inspector posted in Gwalior, with whom his wife had an alleged affair. His plan was to commit suicide after disposing of his colleague.
He, however, had fallen into the police dragnet before he could carry out his sinister design, sources in the police department said. Both the sisters may have sloughed off their bed as usual and had tea together without knowing what awaited them at 10am when they were stabbed to death.
The staircase of the apartment they were living in was speckled with blood. Bhopal police commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra told media persons on Wednesday that the arrested ASI revealed that he and his wife used to enter into altercations. Because the disputes continued for nearly five years, his wife began to live with her sister in the city, Mishra said.
Mishra further said the police had come to know that the wife of the ASI was allegedly having an affair with someone and, after his arrest, it came to light that he was planning to commit suicide.
The police are interrogating the ASI keeping in mind various angles, like what were the major issues he had with his wife, his travelled routes, immediate reasons for committing the crime and gathering further information, he said.
