Water Bell Project: All You Need To Know About Aurangabad Civic Body’s Initiative To Remind Students To Drink Water |

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has launched the ‘Water Bell’ project in its schools to raise awareness about the importance of drinking adequate water. Initiated under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator G. Srikanth, this innovative project aims to remind students to stay hydrated by ringing a water bell at regular intervals throughout the day.

The idea behind this initiative is to encourage students to drink water regularly, as they often forget to do so due to their busy school schedules. Under the ‘Water Bell’ project, students are reminded that drinking water is essential for maintaining good health, especially during the hot summer months when dehydration can occur quickly.

The bell is rung at specific intervals at CSMS Priyadarshini School in Mayurban Colony, as well as other schools within the CSMC jurisdiction. Teachers are also instructed to drink water along with the students to set a good example. Additionally, during the water bell time, students are given glucose or juice to ensure they stay energized and hydrated throughout the school day.

Full water bottles led to idea

The project was introduced after several parents complained to Administrator G. Srikanth that their children were often bringing home water bottles that were still full, indicating that they were not drinking enough water during school hours. In response, the CSMC has implemented a fixed timetable for water breaks, ensuring students are reminded to drink water at regular times throughout the day.

Headmaster Sanjeev Sonar, along with teachers Tejaswini Desale, Rashmi Honmute, Swati Didore, Pratibah Gawade, Babu Rathod, Puja Sonawane, Shubhangi Jamdhade, Safa Pathan, Monika Chavan, and other staff members are working diligently to ensure the project’s success and to promote a healthier lifestyle for students.
