Indian team’s fast bowler Akashdeep impressed everyone by playing two matches in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy. He shared some interesting experiences during the series against Australia on Thursday. Akashdeep praised captain Rohit Sharma, who is facing criticism due to his poor form. Along with this, he also took deep inspiration from Jasprit Bumrah’s performance, stating that bowling with him has taught him many important lessons.

Akashdeep said, “Rohit bhaiya had a lot of confidence in me that I can take wickets anytime. He says he thinks I can take wickets on every ball. He told me that even if we don’t get wickets, it is important to stop the run rate.”

Talking about Bumrah’s bowling skills, Akashdeep said, “A lot can be learned by watching his bowling. He used to constantly give me advice, which made it easier for me to bowl. Bowling on Australian pitches helped me learn new techniques.”

He further said, “Bumrah Bhai is like our Brahmastra. His spells are very important for us. There is a great player in every era, and at this time Bumrah is that player for Team India. Whatever he touches turns to gold. The team has full confidence in him. He is a world class bowler who can perform well in any conditions. He troubles the batsmen and sends them back. He knows very well when and how to bowl to which batsman. For them, workload is not a priority; The team is priority.”

Akashdeep also mentioned that before the Australia tour, he had played only in India, where there is not that much pressure on fast bowlers. “But bowling long spells abroad has taught me a lot about my bowling. Bowling has to be done according to the pitch and conditions. I think I have become a better bowler by bowling there.”
