After a gap of two years, Ajith Kumar is back on the big screens with the movie Vidaamuyarchi. The Tamil movie also stars Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, Arav and Ramya Subramanian. The film was release yesterday (Thursday), and it has received mixed to positive reviews. However, it was expected that Vidaamuyarchi will get a bumper opening at the box office as Ajith’s fans have been waiting for the movie.
So, on its day one, Vidaamuyarchi has collected Rs. 22 crore at the box office. Rs. 21.50 crore came from the original Tamil film, and the Rs. 50 lakh came from the dubbed Telugu version. The first day collection is simply excellent, but it all depends on how the film will perform at the box office over the weekend.
If there’s a jump on weekend, we can expect that the movie will cross Rs. 100 crore mark in just four days (extended weekend). But, if the movie falls or stays stable then we can expect the collection be around Rs. 75-80 crore over the first extended weekend which is also not a bad number.
If we talk about the budget of the film some reports claim that the movie is made on a whopping budget of Rs. 180-200 crore. So, if the budget is so high, the movie surely needs to be stable or show a good jump over the weekend.
Vidaamuyarchi also marks the comeback of Ajith and Trisha’s hit jodi. They have earlier worked together in movies like Kireedam, Ji, Poorna Market, and more. So, the audience was excited to watch them together on the big screens again.
On its day 2, the film is expected to show a drop at the box office, and as per Sacnilk, the movie in the morning shows has collected Rs. 1.46 crore. So, the start is quite low. The movie surely needs to get a double digital number today. So, let’s wait and watch.
