Air India, IndiGo canceled flights: The tension on the border between India and Pakistan is still intact. Despite the ceasefire, Pakistan is not stopping its activities. Drones are being seen continuously in the border areas like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan, due to which there is a blackout situation in these areas. Meanwhile, the airlines have canceled flights to some sensitive areas for the safety of passengers.
IndiGo and Air India have suspended flights between many cities in North and West India by 13 May in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The step has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the ban on airspace and increased security due to increasing military operations and terrorist activities near the border.

Air India canceled flights to Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot on 13 May. Air India said in its statement, “Keeping in mind the recent developments and your safety, flights of Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot have been canceled on Tuesday 13 May. We are watching the situation and will keep you updated.” Air India has assured passengers that services will be restored when the airport is completely operational.
At the same time, IndiGo has canceled its services for Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot.
IndiGo said in a statement on ‘X’ that flights are being canceled in view of recent developments, giving priority to the safety of passengers. The statement said, “We understand that this may disrupt your journey plan and we are sorry for inconvenience. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will give you further information as soon as possible. Before going to the airport, please check your flight status on our website or app. If you need help, if you need help, we are just a message or call to help.”
These airports are among the airports that were temporarily closed in view of military conflict between India and Pakistan and re -opened to civil flights on Monday. According to sources, Indigo aircraft to Amritsar returned to the national capital on Monday evening, as measures for ‘blackout’ measures were implemented in Amritsar.
On Monday, the central government announced the reopening of 32 airports of the country including Hindon, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Rajkot and Bhuj for civil aviation. In view of the military operations with Pakistan, the government temporarily closed operations at these airports till 5.29 am on 15 May 2025. It has now been announced that these restrictions will be lifted. These airports are now available for flying civil aircraft with immediate effect. The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a notification on Monday advising the passengers to check their flight status directly from the airline companies and keep watching the airline website for regular updates.
