Chennai: Passengers onboard Air India’s Chennai-Delhi flight faced inconvenience on Tuesday after the flight was delayed for almost five hours. Notably, the Air India flight, AI 2836, was scheduled to take off at 11:20 am. However, it was delayed due to a technical glitch.

Passengers took to X to express their anger and frustration after the flight was delayed. Reports claimed that passengers were left inside the aircraft for several hours without any information about the departure time.

At the time of the incident, around 180 passengers were onboard the flight, reported NDTV. They deboarded the plane almost after an hour. One of the flyers told the media house that the staff was waiting for a part to come from Delhi.

Air India’s Statement:

Meanwhile, Air India said that the flight would be departing shortly. “The flight is delayed due to operational reasons and will be departing shortly. Our team is trying their best to minimize the inconvenience caused. Requesting your patience in this regard,” the airline said in a reply to a post from one of the passengers.

Passengers Reaction:

“@airindia – Another pathetic experience with Air India- Flight No. AI 2836 from Chennai to Delhi, People are sitting in the plane from 11 am and post boarding they came to know there is some issue,” a flyer posted on X.

Last week, 450 flights were delayed and many others were cancelled due to a dust storm in Delhi.
