Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Air India is all set to launch direct flight from Indore to Coimbatore. This would be a big step towards boosting air connectivity between Indore and Tamil Nadu.
The airline company has officially announced the operation and it’s air route through social media handles. The detailed dates of commencement has not been disclosed yet by the airline.
This initiative has been taken after growing need for travel between both the cities. Once operational this would be the second flight that connects Indore and Tamil Nadu, after Chennai.
According to sources, Air India is working on starting flights on new routes. Air India’s subsidiary company Air India Express has also started many new flights from Indore. These include flights to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Goa. Also, the company is already operating flights to Sharjah.
When this flight service will flag off, Indore’s connection with the entire South region will improve. This flight will also be very beneficial from the business and tourism point of view.
Coimbatore being the Manchester of South India holds a great industrial importance and this air route would be a boon for industrial growth.
However, the local officials of the company confirmed that there is no update on the flight’s commencement date.
