Air India flight AI2415 going from Delhi to Bengaluru on Monday was diverted to Chennai due to operational problems. According to sources, the flight had to make emergency landing due to some problems on the runway. Air India confirmed that the aircraft was taken to Chennai, where it was landed for a while. The aircraft left Delhi at 9:55 am and was to arrive at Bengaluru at 12:50 pm. After landing in Chennai, the fuel in the aircraft was filled and it was again left for Bengaluru at 1:38 pm.

An Air India official said, “The Delhi-Bangalore flight was diverted for a short time. As soon as the ban was removed, the flight again left for its destination.” He said that due to operational reasons, the flight was diverted to Chennai and shortly after it flew to Bengaluru. However, a source in Bangalore International Airport Limited said that there was no ban on flight, but every Monday is fixed an hour for maintenance work on the southern runway, which is prohibited from landing and flying at that time.

According to sources, all airlines and pilots are already aware of the maintenance work on the southern runway on Monday. He said, “The northern runway is quite old and pilots need a special certificate for landing on it. If a pilot does not have this certificate, he cannot land on the northern runway during this one hour period.” However, he also clarified that it is not a restriction, but it is a long -standing process. He said, “We did not stop any aircraft from landing, but the airline should be asked if they had any problem.”
