AICTE rolls out ₹4 crore funding to support conferences in 22 regional languages under AICTE-VAANI | X (@AICTE_INDIA)

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday unveiled the second edition of its flagship initiative, AICTE-VAANI, which focuses on promoting Indian languages in technical education. Under the scheme, AICTE will allocate Rs 4 crore to support 200 conferences, seminars, and workshops this year. All these events will be organised in 22 local languages and emerging technical areas will be covered.

The technical education regulator will begin accepting online applications from AICTE-approved institutions for the AICTE-VAANI scheme from March 25 to April 24. Applications can be submitted through the AICTE-ATAL portal at aicte-india.org/atal. Institutions will be chosen according to AICTE’s set criteria so that the conferences, seminars, or workshops organised are of the desired standards of quality and relevance.

Languages:

– The events will be conducted in 22 regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The conferences, seminars, and workshops will cover 16 emerging technical fields, including:

– Quantum Technology

– Hydrogen Energy

– Space and Defense

– Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science

– Agrotech

– Food Processing

– Cybersecurity

The inaugural edition of AICTE-VAANI was launched on March 11, 2024. For its second edition, the regional languages for holding conferences have been doubled from 12 to 22. The focus areas for deliberations have also been increased from 12 to 16 emerging areas.
