Police have arrested two more accused in the parcel bomb blast case that took place in Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad on Saturday. Two people were injured in this explosion. Investigation has revealed that 44-year-old Rupen Rao was the mastermind behind this attack, who carried out this conspiracy to take revenge from his wife and her in-laws.
Conspiracy out of revenge
According to the police, Rupen Rao was going through the divorce process from his wife and he held his in-laws responsible for the separation.

- Rao became obsessed with harming his wife’s friends and in-laws.

Arrest of other accused
During the investigation into the blast, the police arrested Rao and his associate Rohan Rawal.

Recovered and defused bombs
After the arrest, police recovered two live bombs and a country-made pistol from a car belonging to the suspects.

- The bomb, made of sulfur powder, gunpowder and circuits, was designed to detonate remotely.

- Rao had built it himself and prepared the ammunition for the attack.

- The bomb detection and disposal squad defused the bombs in time, thereby averting a major disaster.
Rao’s intentions and police investigation
Police believe that Rupen Rao intended to cause large-scale damage and create an atmosphere of fear.
