Former Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shahzad fiercely targeted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for selection in the T20 team of all -rounder Shadab Khan. Not only Shadab Khan was included in the team for the five -match T20 series against New Zealand, but he was also made the vice -captain of the team. However, Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat in the first match, after which Shahzad raised a strong question on the PCB’s selection policy.

In the first T20 match, Shadab Khan threw only two overs, in which he gave 18 runs without taking any wicket. New Zealand achieved a target of just 92 runs in 10.1 overs and took a 1-0 lead in the series. After this poor performance, Ahmed Shahzad questioned Shadab’s form and selection process and asked what was the basis for him to include him in the team?

In an interview to Cricket Pakistan, Ahmed Shahzad said,
“You are talking about Shadab, tell me, what performance they have given?” Who has brought them to the team? First let this series pass. PCB has made a separate plan with Shadab and has been included in the team with a different purpose. ”
Angry over the team’s crushing defeat
Ahmed Shehzad also lashed out at the board over the crushing defeat of the Pakistan team. He said that it was one of the worst defeats of Pakistan in T20 cricket, as the team lost with 59 balls remaining.

“We were out, but how many wickets we took?” What did our experienced bowlers do? What kind of dangerous bowling do you see them, whether they are right hand or left hand? ”
National Cricket Academy also targeted
Ahmed Shahzad also strongly criticized PCB’s High Performance Center (HPC) and National Cricket Academy (NCA). He said that in recent years these institutions have failed to prepare good players.
They said,
“When we used to play, big camps were organized in NCA, from where the players were prepared. It was a nursery of academy talent, but now it has become a setup of only PCB officials saving salary and adjusting its people. ”
