Mumbai – A husband strangled his wife in front of his eight -year -old son due to a domestic dispute in Pune. He was then caught while going on a scooter to hide the body.
Describing the entire incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said that the incident took place in Nanded City police station area of Pune. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Rakesh Nishar (age 28 years) was living in a flat in Ghiyari area of Pune with his wife Babita for one and a half years. There was a fight between the two over domestic matter. Rakesh received a call from his father last night. He asked for money from his son. But Babita refused to pay the money, which caused a fight between Rakesh and Babita. The woman attempted suicide but survived. However, later Rakesh got angry and strangled his wife to death.
He wrapped the body in cloth, filled it in a sack and then rode on a scooter to hide the body and roamed around.
At around 1.30 pm, a person called the police control room and told that a scooter was walking in a suspicious manner. The police patrol party caught Rakesh near Bhumkar Bridge and questioned him. But he tried to mislead the police by giving false information and was running away leaving the scooter. The police arrested him.
