After the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand, Maulana of Bareilly said- Law against Sharia is not acceptable

The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been implemented in Uttarakhand. While Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is being praised on one side, on the other hand, many classes are also being criticized. Among those who criticized, Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat is also included. He clearly stated that whatever law will be against Sharia, Muslims will never accept it.

Maulana Rizvi alleges that the Uttarakhand government enacted this law without taking Muslims into confidence. He said that the government only worked under its agenda and no opinion was taken from the Muslim society.

Dhami was honored, while Maulana raised questions

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was honored at Environment University in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. During this time, Dhami was speaking on the Uniform Civil Code, while Maulana Shahabuddin expressed his displeasure while talking to the media.

He said, “The Chief Minister has implemented the UCC in Uttarakhand with the aim of strengthening the image of Hindutva. He constituted a committee under the chairmanship of retired Justice Ranjana Desai and passed this law from the assembly. But this committee could not work in a fair manner.”

Maulana said – Muslims were not taken opinion

Maulana Shahabuddin, citing Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, said that he had talked about implementing the Uniform Civil Code when all the sections of the society are in its favor. But the Uttarakhand government did not make any such effort.

UCC does not include Sharia’s principles

He says that the law in which the Muslim community, scheduled tribes and various fraternities have not been included, cannot be called the Uniform Civil Code. He said that Muslims will recognize only the law that is not against the principles of Sharia. If the law is prepared in such a way that there is no confrontation, only then it can be accepted.

Support the Waqf Amendment Bill

However, Maulana Shahabuddin supported the central government in the case of the Waqf Amendment Bill. He said that with the passage of this bill, corruption in Waqf properties will be banned and the properties can be used according to the intention of the visible (donor).

He said that the purpose of the income of Waqf properties was to help the poor, yatim, helpless Muslims, to make schools, madrasas, library for them, pay fees for children’s education. But now these properties are being misused. Some members and officials of the Waqf Board corruption and sold crores of lands at a quarter to one price.

Change in Waqf law is necessary

Maulana said that even during the tenure of the Congress government, the Waqf Act has been amended five times and now the BJP government is making a sixth amendment. They believe that changes in laws are necessary according to time, and today the biggest need is to curb corruption.

He finally reiterated that the income of Waqf properties should be used only for noble works, as our elders intended.

Government will present CAG report on Delhi pollution in the assembly today
