Bhopal: After Receiving Firecracker Burns, Man Cooks Up Acid Attack Story To Frame Neighbours |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): After receiving burns while lighting firecrackers, a man cooked up a story of an acid attack on him to frame his neighbours to settle old scores. He said neighbours threw acid on him while he was returning home after searching for his cows on the night on April 4.
Despite registering a case on the man’s complaint, Piplani police were suspicious of his claims and finally cracked the case on Monday. The police registered and FIR on the complainant Suraj Sharma (30) for misleading the cops and registering a fake case.
Piplani police station house officer Anurag Lal said Suraj was admitted to hospital where he informed police that his neighbour Madan Vishwakarma and his two aides arrived on a bike and threw acid on him.
A police team under sub inspector Santosh Raghuvanshi investigated the case. Raghuvanshi was suspicious when Suraj failed to provide sequence of events during recreation of the scene. Moreover, inconsistencies were found in the statements of him and his brother. Suraj finally confessed cooking up the fake story to implicate his neighbour Madan who has lodged a complaint against his brother and father at Bilkhiriya police station.
Suraj received burns on his face while lighting firecrackers and then decided to use the opportunity to frame his neighbours.
Points of suspicion
Suraj received burns only on his face and even his clothes were intact, which doesn’t happen in acid attack.
Suraj said the assailants were on a bike while his brother Deepak claimed they came in an auto-rickshaw. Madan’s location was found at another place at the time of incident, which was proved with CCTV footage at his employer’s shop.
