Madhya Pradesh: After EOW Raids, Discom’s Assistant Engineer Turns Out To Be Crorepati; Two Factories Found In Wife’s Name | FPJ
Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-member team of EOW raided residential and official premises of assistant engineer of MP East Discom, Umashankar Parashar, on Saturday.
The team laid its hands on properties, including two factories, houses and assets worth Rs 5.5 crore. The team is probing the documents found in his factories in Biner and Niwari villages near Amagaon in Narsinghpur.
The team came across a huge amount of properties and two factories in the name of Parashar’s wife. Parashar is working in the divisional office of Discom in Katni.
He was previously working for the vigilance department of Discom, Narsinghpur. He was transferred to Katni a year ago. The EOW sleuths also found three houses and chemical and waste treatment plants in the name of his wife.
According to deputy superintendent of police of EOW, AB Singh, properties disproportionate to his known sources were found after an initial inquiry. He has built houses in Vipatpura and Rosra areas in Narsinghpur. His chemical factory and waste treatment are located in Biner village. The plants are running in the name of his wife.
EOW sleuths continued to work till the filing of reports. They have seized several documents connected to properties. The EOW sleuths also found five cars and a two-wheeler during the search.
Apart from six vehicles, the EOW came across jewellery worth over Rs 18.16 lakh. Similarly, household goods worth over Rs 36.43 lakh were found. The EOW officials also found nine bank accounts.
