BJP now after a stunning victory in Delhi assembly elections The eye is on Bihar, where elections are going to be held in October-November. The BJP -led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) aims to win more than 225 seats in the 243 -member assembly. But Bihar’s electoral battle is completely different from any other state. There is also a new type of alliance and the main face is different from the politics of the center. While the NDA will contest elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the Bihar assembly elections, the face of the Grand Alliance will be Tejashwi Yadav. For the last three decades, two leaders have dominated Bihar politics. These leaders are Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav.
There are both King and Kingmaker in Bihar.
Even though Lalu Yadav is no longer politically active, his influence in Bihar has not diminished. His son Tejashwi Yadav is now advancing Lalu’s political legacy. Talking about Nitish Kumar, he is the Chief Minister of Bihar for two decades. In 2015, he left the post for a few months and made Jitan Ram Manjhi the Chief Minister. During this time, Nitish has definitely changed the coalition partners, but the Chief Minister’s chair has been with him. Bihar also has a king, there is a kingmaker and the magic of alliance. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Bihar’s politics is more complex than any other state in India.
In Bihar, there will be a BJP -led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on the one hand in the upcoming assembly elections, on the other hand there will be a grand alliance led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The NDA consists of BJP along with JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM). On the other hand, the Grand Alliance consists of RJD, Congress, Left and Vikas Human Party.
NDA’s target win 225 seats
After Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi, the BJP -led NDA aims to maintain its victory in the upcoming Bihar elections as well. The victory in Delhi has increased the confidence of NDA. On the other hand, the NDA has done well in the recent by -elections in Bihar. The NDA has set an ambitious target of winning 225 seats in the 243 -member Bihar Legislative Assembly. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the NDA is holding rallies to show unity and strength before the elections.
Organize
JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan insisted that Delhi’s victory gives the message of strong unity of NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The NDA is moving towards winning 225 seats. Before the elections in Bihar, the leaders of the parties involved in the NDA are trying to ensure unity among the members of the coalition. Joint meetings are being held in every district, where the NDA state presidents are going together and giving the message of unity and determination. JDU state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha urged party workers to form an united front to counter the dynastic political forces of the opposition.
NDA vs. Grand Alliance conflict in Bihar
In Bihar, the NDA will have to face a strong rival like RJD -led Grand Alliance (RJD, Congress, Left and VIP). RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has made several promises to the public before the election, including the promise of giving Rs 2,500 per month and 200 units of free electricity to the female head of the family under the ‘My Bahn Mann Yojana’. His other major promises include monthly pension for economically weaker sections and measures to curb employment as well as employment for youth.
Despite RJD’s aggressive publicity, the NDA is confident of its victory in Bihar. Senior BJP leader Tarakishore Prasad, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, cited the effective rule of nearly two decades, hoping that the BJP-JDU alliance in Bihar would remain in power. Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram Manjhi also reacted to the results of Delhi and wrote in a post on X, ‘Delhi is a tableau, Bihar is still left ……… Jai NDA.’
Impact of Union Budget on Bihar election
As Bihar election campaign is gaining momentum, the development agenda of the state is also coming to the center. Earlier this year, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several announcements in his budget with the aim of promoting the infrastructure and economy of Bihar. This includes the establishment of the Makhana Board, construction of Greenfield Airport and financial assistance for major projects such as Western Koshi Canal.
Additionally, Sitharaman also announced a plan to expand IIT Patna in Bihar and set up National Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management in Bihar. These are measures that are expected to be liked by voters. NDA supporters hope that the victory in Delhi and the announcements made in the Union Budget will further strengthen the state of the state.
Will NDA win in Bihar too?
As elections are coming closer in Bihar, its allies in BJP and NDA are also working hard to maintain their recent successes here. The BJP wants to win another victory in Bihar by taking advantage of the victory in Delhi and the pace from previous victories. The results of the 2025 election will be important for the position of NDA at Bihar and the national level and the politics of the Center. This time will tell whether the NDA will be able to win a huge victory in Bihar or not. But a lot is at stake because the BJP wants to maintain its strong hold on one of the most politically important states of the country.
