Tayyip erdogan on pahalgam terror attack: India-Pakistan relations have become more tense due to the terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Basaron Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Turkish President Tayyip Erdoan has appealed to both countries to reduce tension.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has also announced support to Pakistan. Erdoan’s statement came at a time when reports of Turkish C-130 Hercules aircraft have reported military supply to Pakistan.

We support Pakistani people – Erdogan

Erdoan said in the capital Ankara on Monday, ‘Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently visited our country. During this time we also discussed multilateral relations with defense and trade as well as Pakistan. This time is very important for the development of the entire region. We do not want any new struggle in or outside our area. We hope that the tension between Pakistan and India will decrease before any serious incident happens. We support the Pakistani public.

Türkiye suspects of giving military assistance to Pakistan

On Sunday, six Turkish C-130 Hercules military aircraft arrived in Pakistan, which intensified speculation that Türkiye could provide military assistance to Pakistan. However, the Turkish Ministry of Turkish Defense clarified that no ammunition was sent to Pakistan. The military aircraft were on a regular supply mission and had no weapon related items. However, this development has raised many questions in regional politics.

India’s strict response

After the recent terrorist attacks, India took several decisive steps at the diplomatic level. The government has canceled the Indus Water Treaty, which has been the basis of water sharing between India and Pakistan for decades. The visa discount given to Pakistan under the South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) has been canceled. In addition, India has reduced the number of Pakistani diplomats in its high age, which has reduced the possibility of bilateral dialogue.
