USA Exile News: Southern California couple Gladis and Nelson Gonzalez have been sent back to Colombia after spending 35 years in the US. The couple came here in 1989 and have been part of their community for almost four decades. He was detained by ICE and spent three and a half weeks in custody before he was deported on March 18. The couple abolished all legal options to live in the United States from March 2000 to August 2021 and Nelson Gonzalaz applied for asylum in 1992.

The 55 and 59 -year -old couple were detained by the US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) on 21 February and were deported on 18 March after being detained for three and a half weeks. Despite finding legal avenues for check-in and citizenship, their efforts failed. His three American-origin daughters described the action taken against their parents cruel and unjust and said that he was treated like criminals and reminded him of his contribution towards society.

The immigration lawyer claimed that in the 1990s, Gonzalez had fallen victim to fraudulent immigration activities when he was trying to legalize his position. ICE officials said that the couple had abolished all legal options by August 2021. Nelson applied for asylum in 1992, but his case was closed in 1998, after which he was ordered to leave voluntarily in 2000.

Suddenly, the family has suffered a major setback both emotionally and economically. The immigration lawyer criticized the administration for not giving enough time to the couple to maintain their relationship and meet relatives.
