After 25 Years Of Legal Dispute, Ex-Corporator Donates Land In Saket For Key Road Project | FPJ

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Former corporator Sushila Rani Mittal, on Wednesday, handed over land worth Rs 5 crore to the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) for the construction of a key road connecting Saket to Ring Road.

The land, approximately 12 metres wide and located in Telephone Nagar, had been the subject of a legal dispute for over 25 years.

The official handover took place in the presence of senior IMC officials and Indore-5 MLA Mahendra Hardia. Mittal’s contribution removes a long-standing hurdle and paves the way for the long-delayed road project to finally move forward.

Municipal commissioner Shivam Verma, who was instrumental in facilitating discussions with Mittal and her family, expressed his appreciation for the generous gesture. “This is a shining example of public cooperation in urban development”, he said.

“We hope other landowners will be inspired by Mittal’s commitment to the city’s progress”, he said.

Mittal’s decision was influenced by the consistent efforts of key figures from the IMC, including senior advocate Manoj Munshi, zone officer Lodhi, road incharge Shailendra Mishra and senior advocate Vishal Baheti.

At the event, joint director of town and country planning Dr Shubhashish Banerjee assured that the remaining land map would soon be approved.

Hardia extended his gratitude and Sushila Rani Mittal’s son Dr Kulbhushan Mittal Kukki was also commended for supporting the move.
