Kerala Chief Secretary Sharda Muralitharan has given a befitting reply to the comments made on social media on his dark color. He told in his Facebook post how he has faced derogatory comments and prejudices about his color since childhood. He wrote, “I have been buried under the story for more than 50 years that my color is not good. Now the time has come to respond to these prejudices.”
Debate arose on social media
His post waged a new debate on social media about gender and racial bias. He told that he was felt less in childhood, but his children made him realize that the dark color is also beautiful.
Comparison and strict response to husband
Sharda Muralitharan took over as Chief Secretary of Kerala in September 2024. Earlier, her husband V Venu was in the post, who retired on 31 August 2024.

A memorable incident of childhood
She told that when she was four years old, she asked her mother, “Can you make me blond and beautiful by keeping me in the womb again?”
He admitted that the society assured him that his color was not good. But now she has come forward to change this thinking.
