Microplastic Exposure: Plastic has become an important part of our life these days, but do you know that plastic is also entering our body as microplastic? These are very small particles of plastic, which enter our body through air, water and food. Several studies suggest that the increased levels of microplastics in the body may increase the risk of cancer, hormonal imbalance, heart disease and other serious diseases. In such a situation, it is important that we make some changes in our lifestyle so that microplastic can be prevented from entering the body.
1. Avoid using plastic bottles
Plastic water bottles contain micro plastic particles, which dissolve in water. If you drink water from a plastic bottle daily, the risk of penetration of microplastics into your body increases.
To avoid this, use stainless steel or glass bottle. In addition, avoid keeping plastic bottles in heat or sunlight as much as possible, as more plastic particles can come out of it.
2. Avoid food with plastic packs
Nowadays, most of the food products in the market come into plastic packaging, allowing microplastics to enter food.
To avoid this, eat fresh and homemade food instead of plastic pack snacks, instant noodles and juice. Also, keep the food in glass or steel utensils as far as possible.
3. Drink tap water and drink
According to a research, tap water can contain microplastic particles, which gradually accumulate in the body.
Use good quality water filters to prevent this from happening. Also, if possible, drink water only after filtering with RO or UV filter.
4. Avoid excessive use of synthetic clothes
Clothing such as polyester and nylon also contain microplastic, which destroys them. Especially when we wash it in a washing machine.
To avoid this, wear clothes made of natural clothes like cotton, linen and wool. Also, avoid washing synthetic clothes repeatedly and use environmentally friendly detergents.
5. Do not eat hot food in plastic utensils.
When hot food comes in contact with plastic, toxic elements can come out of it, which is harmful to the body.
Use steel, glass or pottery instead of plastic utensils to prevent this from happening. Also, do not use plastic containers in the microwave, instead you can use glass utensils.
6. Use an air purifier to keep the air clean
The air also contains microplastic, which can enter our body through the breath. So it would be better that you use good quality air purifiers.
Also plant air purifiers or plants in the house, which purifies the air. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the house and maintain natural ventilation as much as possible.
