Udaipur, 08 July (Hindustan Times). Every parent dreams that their child should become an engineer. They also want the children to go to IIT. But, out of about 11 lakh applicants who do coaching, only 18 thousand students get into IIT institutes. Most of the remaining students take admission in government and private engineering institutes. Whereas, such students can start engineering education only after 10th, avoiding the cost and stress of coaching.
Principal of Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic Udaipur, Dr. .l Mehta said that after taking admission in polytechnic after 10th, those who do three year engineering diploma get direct admission in second year of engineering B.Tech. In this way, after 10th, B.Tech degree is done in six years.
Mehta said that one of the advantages of engineering diploma route is that there are many employment opportunities in government and private sector after passing the diploma. If a student does not want to do B.Tech after Diploma due to any reason, then he/she can start employment as Diploma Engineer.
