It was a valiant performance albeit in a losing cause. Medium Pacer Swing bowler Aditya Rane bowled his heart out for United Cricket Club, claiming seven wickets but his team sank to an 81-run loss against Parsee Gymkhana in The Young Comrades Shield cricket match recently.

Parsee Gymkhana batted first, posting a formidable total, thanks to Jay Jain’s magnificent century. His blistering 118 runs off just 97 balls set the tone for their innings. Jain was ably supported by Sachin Yadav, who played a brisk knock of 50 runs in 46 balls. Ishan Mulchandani contributed a handy 35 runs off 46 balls, helping the team reach a commanding target of runs.

In response, United Cricketers faced stiff resistance from Parsee Gymkhana’s bowlers. Sagar Chhabriya struck early, taking 3 wickets for 69 runs in 12.3 overs. Nutan Goel’s disciplined spell of 15 overs, which included two maiden overs, yielded 4 crucial wickets for just 47 runs, dismantling United Cricketers’ batting lineup.

Despite Aditya Rane’s heroic bowling effort, claiming 7 wickets for 87 runs in 22.3 overs, United Cricketers struggled . Rane also chipped in with a quick 30 off 28 balls, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. Omkar Rahate showed resilience with 50 runs off 91 balls, while Suchit Devli and Aditya Sule added 51 and 32 runs respectively.
