The Andheri court has remanded a Delhi resident Aditya Pandit, 27, to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the abetment of a suicide case involving his girlfriend Air India pilot Srishti Tuli. The police did not seek custody, and the court sent him into judicial custody. Pandit’s lawyer, Ambuj Shukla, said, “We will file a bail application on Tuesday or Wednesday in the session court. The police did not seek remand, and the court sent him into judicial custody. I deny all allegations, and I will argue the matter.”
The 25-year-old pilot was found dead in her rented apartment in Andheri East on November 25. Srishti allegedly died by suicide using a data cable in her flat and the Powai police arrested Pandit on November 26. Although no suicide note was found at the scene but Srishti had made a last call to Pandit before her death.
According to the FIR, Srishti was living at Marol, Andheri East, since June 2023. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, she had moved to Mumbai for work. Pandit and Srishti had met in Delhi two years ago during training for a commercial pilot licence and their friendship developed into a romantic relationship.
Pandit had stayed with Srishti at her Andheri flat late at night before the incident. On the night of November 25, Pandit left for Delhi by car. Around 1am, Srishti called him, saying she would take her life. Pandit returned to Mumbai, but upon reaching her apartment, he found the door locked. He then contacted Srishti’s friend, Urvi Panchal. Together, they called a keymaker to unlock the door, discovering Srishti hanging. She was rushed to Seven Hills Hospital, where she was declared dead.
Srishti’s uncle, Vivekkumar Tuli, 57, filed a complaint against Pandit, alleging that he harassed her emotionally and verbally. He accused Pandit of frequent public arguments and controlling behaviour. Pandit reportedly forced Srishti to stop eating non-vegetarian food and even damaged her car on one occasion, leaving her stranded.
