In a heartwarming initiative, Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation recently concluded a month-long Eye Check-Up Camp in Mumbai, benefiting nearly 20,000 individuals.
The camp, a testament to the organizations’ commitment to community well-being, provided comprehensive eye care services, including free eye examinations and the distribution of spectacles to those in need. A significant portion of the beneficiaries were 17,000 students from 73 BMC schools under the Utthan CSR initiative. Additionally, 3,000 underprivileged women associated with the Swabhimaan CSR program received vital eye care.
Speaking on the initiative, an Adani Electricity spokesperson said, “Our goal was to not just provide eye care but to illuminate lives. Through detailed eye screenings and expert advice, we aim to empower individuals to prioritize their vision health.
A renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Prabhati Mukherjee who volunteered at the camp emphasized the importance of regular eye check-ups. “Early detection and treatment of eye conditions can significantly improve vision and prevent further complications. We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide free eye care to thousands of Mumbaikars, especially those who may not have access to such services.”
A spokesperson for the Adani Foundation stated, “We conducted a month-long camp across 94 locations, engaging with 20,000 beneficiaries of our CSR initiatives. Through this effort, we identified nearly 4,987 individuals which includes 2,974 BMC students and 2,013 women suffering from poor eye health, and provided them with further consultations”
Adani Foundation and Adani Electricity remain dedicated to improving the quality of life for their beneficiaries. Under the Utthan initiative, over 21,000 BMC students from 80 schools are receiving support to achieve academic excellence. The Swabhimaan program empowers 4,000 underprivileged women with sustainable livelihoods and prioritizes their health through regular check-ups, including this vital eye care initiative.
