Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist believes that Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s Test career is on the verge of ending. He also said that Rohit will not go on England tour later this year. Recently, in the last Test match played against Australia in Sydney, Rohit decided to take rest, due to which former cricketers were surprised. However, Rohit had defended his decision citing poor form.

Rohit Sharma had earlier also said that he has no plans of retirement and he will continue playing. Gilchrist shared his views on Rohit’s future, saying that the Indian cricketer will assess his situation after returning home and will probably not go on the England tour, especially now that he has become a father for the second time.

“I don’t think Rohit will go to England,” Gilchrist said on the Club Prairie Fire podcast. He has said that he will assess the situation upon returning home. When he goes home, the first thing he will do is meet his two-month-old baby and have to change his nappy. This may motivate him to go to England, but I don’t think he will pay attention to it.
