The actress -turned -leader Ranjana Nachiyar resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) amidst the ongoing debate over the National Education Policy (NEP) and language dispute in Tamil Nadu. He shared his resignation on the social media platform ‘X’ and cited the imposing three language policy, hate to the Dravidian ideology and the neglect of Tamil Nadu as the main reason for the resignation.
Displeasure over three language policy
Ranjana Nachiyar wrote in her letter, “Three language policy ends the identity of Tamil language and culture.” She said that she was involved in the BJP due to the values of national security and patriotism, but now the nationalism of the party is limited to narrow ideology, which is not inclusive for all Indians.
He further wrote, “The prosperity of Tamil Nadu is associated with the security of the nation, but the BJP is ignoring the needs and aspirations of the state.” In addition, he also criticized the negative attitude towards the BJP’s Dravidian ideology.

Debate on political impact and language
Ranjana’s resignation is being considered a major setback for the BJP in Tamil Nadu, especially when there is already a political fierce political furore over the National Education Policy (NEP) and the language policy in the state.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had made it clear that his government would not implement NEP in the state, even if the central government proposed financial assistance of Rs 10,000 crore. Stalin described NEP as a medium for imposing Hindi and said that this policy will remove students from education.
