Actress Amrita Arora Ladak on Saturday deposed before the metropolitan magistrate court in connection with the brawl that took place at the Taj hotel between actor Saif Ali Khan and an NRI businessman. The latter started misbehaving first and threatened the group with dire consequences, testified Arora.

She was among the group, including Khan, that had gone for dinner at Taj on February 22, 2012. She claimed that the hotel had given them a separate enclosure where they were dining. Shortly, the businessman, who is the complainant, came there and began shouting and abusing them, alleged the actress, adding that Khan immediately apologised.

Arora further said that after a while, Khan excused himself to go to the washroom and subsequently they heard loud voices. When they went out of their enclosure, they saw that the businessman was hitting Khan, the actress alleged. The complainant threatened dire consequences when others from the group intervened, she added.

As per the prosecution, Khan was dining with a group of 12 people from the film industry when the scuffle allegedly took place. The complainant alleged that the group was making a lot of noise, disturbing other patrons. He accused Khan and two of his friends of assaulting him when raised objections.

The actor and the duo were booked for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and the chargesheet was filed on December 21, 2012.
