Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu has been hospitalised amid his ongoing family feud. On Tuesday (December 10), he also had an altercation with a journalist and the incident led the reporter to file a case against the actor, accusing him of grabbing the microphone and striking him with it during a LIVE recording.
According to media reports, a health bulletin was released by Hyderabad’s Continental Hospitals which informed that the actor was brought in emergency and he is currently under observation.
“Noted film personality and former member of the Rajya Sabha Dr Manchu Mohan Babu was brought into the Emergency Department of Continental Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, at 8:30 pm on 10th December 2024 with complaints of diffuse body pains, anxiety and history of loss of consciousness,” the bulletin read.
“He was given immediate and necessary medical care by the specialists in the Emergency Department, and following a thorough examination, he was found to be having a blunt injury below the left eye and was found with high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and excessive heart rate fluctuations,” it further read.
Manchu family feud
The Manchu family has been making headlines since the last couple of days due to escalating disputes between Mohan Babu and his younger actor-son Manchu Manoj over property and family issues.
Chaos ensued at Mohan Babu’s Jalpally home on Tuesday when Manoj attempted to enter the house while a video journalist covering the development was also allegedly attacked. Manoj reportedly tried to force his way inside the house, only to be pushed out by private security personnel deployed there.
TV visuals also showed Mohan Babu trying to hit a video journalist, who was covering the development, with a microphone. The video journalist reportedly suffered injuries.
Reports about differences in Mohan Babu’s family surfaced after he lodged a police complaint, alleging that Manoj and his wife “orchestrated” a plan to take possession of his Jalpally home through intimidation and force. However, Manoj informed media persons that he was not fighting for a share in the property but self-respect.
On Monday (December 9), Manoj was spotted outside a private hospital in Hyderabad, wearing a cervical collar and relying on the support of those around him to walk. He was hospitalised on December 8. If media reports are to be believed, Manoj suffered serious injuries after he was beaten by some people.
Reports have also stated that his family dispute landed him in trouble. On the other hand, media reports suggest that Mohan Babu’s aides thrashed Manoj after which they lodged a police complaint against each other.
Manchu family often makes headlines for all the wrong reasons. In 2023, a video purportedly showing Mohan Babu’s elder son Manchu Vishnu and Manoj engaging in a verbal spat had gone viral on social media.
