Indore Police Launch Security Drive Ahead Of Republic Day, Action Against 560 | FP Photo
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City police conducted an extensive security drive to take action against criminals/antisocial elements and to ensure public safety ahead of Republic Day. During the drive, action has been taken against 560 people involved in different criminal activities on Friday night. During the drive, 171 people were caught driving vehicles under liquor influence.
On the instruction of commissioner of police Santosh Kumar Singh, the DCPs of all zones instructed the subordinates to launch checking drives and patrolling especially in the sensitive areas under their jurisdictions in the city.
The different police teams were deployed during the drive to ensure vigilance, monitor suspicious activities and maintain law and order in their areas. The hotels and the lodges and their registers were also checked to get information about their guests.
About 1294 people were checked and action taken against 560 of them for involvement in different crimes. 171 commuters, who were found under the liquor influence, were booked under section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and their vehicles were also seized during the drive which lasted till 6 am on Saturday.
About 279 warrants including permanent and arrest warrants were also executed by the different police teams in the city. Also, two cases were made after finding some people consuming liquor in public places.
