Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh on Friday accused several districts of West Bengal of conspiring to take out the Hindu population in a systematic manner. Taking the names of districts like Malda, Murshidabad, North and South Dinajpur, Nadia, Birbhum and Howrah, he claimed that the Hindu community was repeatedly attacking in these areas. According to Ghosh, a large number of people from Bangladesh are entering India and spreading unrest here. He said that behind these incidents, there is a planned attempt to remove the Hindu population from these districts.
Demonstration with siege of DM office in Malda
On this issue, Dilip Ghosh, MP Khagan Murmu and other BJP leaders surrounded the District Magistrate’s Office in Malda and protested. He demanded immediate action from the local administration that Hindus were threatened before Ramnavami in Mothabari, Malda and Murshidabad. Ghosh said that the rally was not only to warn the government, but was also organized with the aim of united and empowering the Hindu community. He said, “We have put up our demands. If action is not taken on these, the protest will continue even further.”
Shubhendu Adhikari’s assurance – incident like Motari will not happen again
BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari met the victims of violence on 11 April in Mothabari. He said that such incidents will not happen again in future and BJP will provide security to Hindus in the state. He alleged that the politics of appeasement is being done for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by united Muslim -dominated voters in Malda, while Hindu, farmer and poor sections are being ignored. The official said that this is the time when the court should also intervene in this case.
Malda violence and administration action
Shubhendu Adhikari claimed that in the recent violence, about 86 shops and houses of the Hindu community were targeted and destroyed in Motari area. He said that he has come to meet these aggrieved families and in many places in four years the BJP has stopped the atrocities on Hindus. Significantly, on March 27, violence erupted between two communities in Motari region of Malda, after which 61 people have been arrested so far and internet service has been postponed in three sensitive areas.
