There was an uproar over allegations of conversion in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, when villagers and people from Hindu organizations accused three women of converting. The police reached the spot and pacified the situation and took the three women to the checkpoint.

Villagers created a ruckus on Monday evening at Vidyapur village of Modinagar police station area. On receiving information from the police, the police reached the spot and persuaded the people to calm down the matter. During interrogation, it was revealed that women had come for conversion, but for religious campaigning.

ACP Modinagar said that it was not a matter of conversion. Women came to the village for the purpose of religious publicity. A religious event was going on at the house of Gopal Kumar, a resident of village Vidyapur, in which three women from Delhi and Meerut were chanting. The villagers mistakenly understood that women were converting and created a ruckus on it.

Meanwhile, Neeraj Sharma of Hindu Yuva Vahini also reached the spot with the workers and created a ruckus alleging conversion. On receiving the information from the police, Modi reached the spot with his team in -charge and brought the three women to the outpost. Police said that there are two Brahmins and one Buddhist among women.

During interrogation, the women said that they were associated with an institution in Meerut and came to the village to campaign religious. ACP Modinagar, Gyanprakash Rai said that the police was sent on receiving information about the uproar. No case of conversion has been found in the investigation, and the police is investigating the matter thoroughly.
