The accused in the merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput case, Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, were thrashed by an angry group of lawyers outside a court in Meerut.
The police managed to rescue both accused from the lawyers’ siege with great difficulty. In their anger, the lawyers beat Sahil so severely that his clothes were torn apart during the scuffle. The police took Sahil to jail in a semi-naked state.
According to reports, Muskan Rastogi, who killed her husband Saurabh Kumar in Meerut, and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla were taken to court by the police. As they were leaving after the hearing, hundreds of lawyers surrounded them and beat them both.
According to reports, Muskan’s husband Saurabh Rajput, who worked as a Merchant Navy officer in London, had visited his wife in February to celebrate her birthday. Saurabh was stabbed to death on March 4. Muskan and her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly chopped Saurabh’s body into pieces. The accused then placed Saurabh’s body parts into a drum filled with cement and sealed it. The victim’s decomposed remains were recovered on Tuesday.
Earlier today, speaking to a private news channel, Muskan’s mother, who had informed police about the incident, said that she wants her daughter to be hanged to death for committing such a heinous crime.
Demanding justice for Saurabh, she said, “He (Saurabh) loved her blindly. Out daughter was badtameez (ill-mannered). He even left properties worth crores for her and she did this.”
