Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court today said that the bad words spoken about the Prime Minister were derogatory and irresponsible. But it cannot be called treason.

Bidar’s New Town police station has booked Shaheen School administrators Aladdin, Abdul Khaliq, Mohd Biwal Imandar and Mohd Mehtab for “sedition” for uttering wrong words about the prime minister. Justice Hemant Chandangoudar made this comment while rejecting his FIR.

Along with this, the court also said that Section 153 (A) of the IPC (spreading discord between religious groups) does not apply in this case.

Using such words against the Prime Minister is not only derogatory but also irresponsible. The policies of the government can be criticized constructively, but if a policy decision is taken, which is objectionable to a section of the society, then taking that decision cannot be said to be a constitutional affront. Chandangaur said in his judgment.
