For example, a court in Abu Dhabi has sentenced a woman to five years in prison and a fine of 11 lakhs for spreading hatred on social media. The court has also ordered confiscation of the woman’s mobile phone.
The woman has been accused of posting a video of hate speech on social media. Derogatory words were used for men and workers in the video.
Due to which the court has sentenced the woman after hearing in this case. The court has also ordered confiscation of the woman’s mobile phone. Along with this, the woman has also ordered the removal of the posted video.
An agency of the Abu Dhabi government monitors every post of people on social media and this agency saw the post of the woman and accused her of spreading hatred. On which the court took action.
