“Do not politicize festivals” – Abu Azmi
On the issue of covering mosques with tarpaulin before Holi, Abu Azmi said that festivals should not be made a political issue.
- “There has always been Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb in our country. Everyone should celebrate the festival together. “
- “All the people celebrating Holi should celebrate it enthusiastically, but do not throw color at any Muslim without consent.”
- “Namaz can be offered at home in compulsion if needed, but it is very important to offer prayers in the mosque.”
Also requested to Hindu community
Abu Azmi also made a special appeal to the Hindu community:
“Celebrate the festival happily, but do not deliberately add color to any Muslim.”
He said that there is Ramadan on March 14 and Holi, so many people who do not offer Namaz throughout the year, they go to the mosque during Ramadan because its importance is very high.
“One should not postpone the prayers on the day of Holi”
- Abu Azmi emphasized that even on the day of Holi, the prayers of Jumme must be read.
- He said that people of every religion in India have the right to accept their religious customs.
- So he appealed to the Hindu community not to do any work that hurts anyone.
