Who will be the captain of RCB in IPL 2025 has become a big question. While most of the teams have announced their captains, RCB team is still not able to choose its captain. Former team player AB de Villiers believes that RCB has no other option but to make Virat Kohli the captain, because currently there is no other leader visible in the team. Last season, Faf Du Plessis captained the team, but this time RCB released him and Delhi Capitals bought him for Rs 2 crore.
AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel, “I think Virat Kohli is the only option (to captain RCB). He is in the final stages of his career and is more motivated than ever. We are used to seeing him always playing match-winning innings, until he finds form and starts scoring runs. This is an important time in his career.”
Virat Kohli captained RCB from 2013 to 2021, and during this time he took the team to the 2016 IPL final. In that season, he scored the most runs and also scored four centuries. Although, he left the captaincy in 2021, but this time it is expected that he can return to the captaincy role again.
De Villiers believes that Virat Kohli can end his career on a high by taking the responsibility of captaining RCB once again.
Virat Kohli has captained RCB in 143 IPL matches, in which the team won 66 matches and lost 70 matches. RCB’s win percentage under his captaincy has been 46.15%.
