Once again the atmosphere in Delhi politics has become heated due to rhetoric. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj launched a scathing attack on BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri’s alleged remarks regarding the surname of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Bhardwaj said in sharp words, “When the election results come, then we will know who is whose father.”
Bidhuri’s controversial comment
Ramesh Bidhuri, who is the BJP candidate from Kalkaji assembly seat, on Sunday gave a controversial statement regarding Atishi’s surname. Bidhuri said, “Atishi, who was earlier Marlena, has now become Leo. He changed both his name and his father.”
Taking aim at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he said, “Kejriwal had sworn on the children that he would not go with the corrupt Congress. But now Atishi changed both his father and surname. This is his character.”
Kejriwal and AAP counterattack
Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal strongly condemned this statement. He wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. BJP leaders are abusing the woman Chief Minister of Delhi. The people and women of Delhi will definitely take revenge for this.”
Bidhuri’s old comment on Priyanka Gandhi
This is not the first time that Ramesh Bidhuri is embroiled in controversy due to his statements. Recently he had made a controversial comment about Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. You MP Sanjay Singh shared a video of him, in which Bidhuri said, “If BJP comes to power in Delhi, the roads of Kalkaji will become as smooth as Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks.”
Opposition from Congress and AAP
After the remarks made on Priyanka Gandhi, both Aam Aadmi Party and Congress targeted Bidhuri. The Congress leader called it an insult to women. AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “The BJP leader should apologize for his abusive language.”
Bidhuri expressed regret
After the controversy escalated, Ramesh Bidhuri clarified his comment and said that his statement was related to the old comments of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav. He said, “I had given this statement in the context of Lalu Yadav, who was a minister during the Congress regime. If my comment has hurt anyone, I express my regret and withdraw my words.”
increasing conflict in politics
This development is further heating up the electoral politics of Delhi. This series of allegations and counter-allegations between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party may further intensify in the coming elections. However, it will be interesting to see how the public will react to such statements.
