Chandigarh: Firing a fresh salvo at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), senior Punjab Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday claimed that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal had summoned the Punjab AAP leaders’ meet in Delhi on Tuesday so as to prepare a ground to oust Bhagwant Mann from the post of the Punjab chief minister.

“After the recent humiliating debacle in Delhi, the AAP seems to have been in rescue mode in Punjab. The broom party has anticipated its disastrous future in the border state. The top leadership of AAP has started taking measures to save its government in Punjab and perhaps preparing for the next assembly election’’, he held.

Bajwa, who is leader of opposition (LoP) in Punjab assembly, further alleged that the AAP government in Punjab under, what he termed as, the inefficient leadership of Bhagwant Mann has failed in performing and fulfilling its promises including, Rs 1,000 per month to women, raising Rs 20,000 crore annually from mining, improving law and order, and ending the drug menace and corruption. Therefore, his CM post was already at stake,” Bajwa added.

“Punjab has been on the threshold to be bankrupt. Apart from this, other matters, for instance, drug menace and law and order situation have been looming large in the state. Yet, the Punjab CM has been busy with insignificant affairs like touring Australia and party meetings in Delhi,’’ Bajwa held.
