Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has made a big claim that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can make Ramesh Bidhuri the chief ministerial face of Delhi. He said, “Now the people of Delhi have to decide whether they want Arvind Kejriwal or Ramesh Bidhuri.”
Sanjay Singh alleged that by defending Bidhuri’s controversial statements, BJP is making it clear that it is preparing to make him a contender for the post of Chief Minister.
Displeasure over Bidhuri’s statement
Sanjay Singh said that Ramesh Bidhuri gave a very objectionable statement against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
He said,
- “The statement made by Bidhuri regarding the Chief Minister’s father is shameful.”
- “Atishi’s father is 80 years old and is ill. In this situation, abuses are being made against him. BJP leaders should be ashamed of this.”
Taking aim at the BJP, he said, “This party has become the biggest party of those who speak the language of hooliganism and abuses.”
Comment on Priyanka Gandhi and questions on Congress
Sanjay Singh also alleged that this is not the first time that Ramesh Bidhuri has made objectionable remarks. He said:
- “Bidhuri had earlier also used abusive language against Priyanka Gandhi.”
- “Congress may fight against us in elections, but when it comes to respect for women, Arvind Kejriwal and AAP are always ahead. We condemned the statement given against Priyanka Gandhi, but Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dixit did not say anything on it.”
Sanjay Singh alleged that these Congress leaders are in “collusion” with the BJP.
“Delhi has to decide its leader”
Sanjay Singh said,
- “BJP needs a leader like Ramesh Bidhuri, but Delhi has to decide what kind of leadership it wants.”
- He stressed that BJP is moving towards making Bidhuri the CM face.
AAP’s emphasis on women’s respect
Sanjay Singh said that Aam Aadmi Party never compromises on the issue of respect for women. He said,
“We condemned not only Atishi but also the comments made on Priyanka Gandhi. But Congress leaders are silent on this issue, which raises questions on their politics.”
