Delhi Assembly Session: Today is the third day of the Delhi assembly session. Meanwhile, opposition Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were barred from entering the Delhi Assembly premises. On the second day of the session, 21 AAP MLAs were suspended for the entire session. Now admission in their premises has also been banned. Leader of Opposition Atishi has targeted BJP’s Rekha Gupta government regarding this.
AAP leader Atishi has alleged that AAP MLAs raised slogans of ‘Jai Bhima’. So he was suspended from the session. Atishi posted on the social media platform X and wrote, ‘BJP crossed the limits of dictatorship as soon as he came to power. Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were suspended from the House for three days for raising slogans of ‘Jai Bhima’ and today AAP MLAs are not being allowed to enter the assembly premises. He said, “It has never happened in the history of Delhi Assembly that elected MLAs were not being allowed to enter the assembly premises.”
Suspended MLAs will meet the Speaker of the Assembly
Aam Aadmi Party’s suspended MLA Speaker can meet Vishendra Gupta after not getting permission to enter the House campus. On the second day of the session, when Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena was spent, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were creating a ruckus in the House. Due to this, the speaker suspended all 21 MLAs for three days. The last date for this is 28 February. However, Amanatullah Khan was not present there at that time, so no action was taken against him.
Discussion on these points today in the proceedings of the House
The discussion on the election and liquor policy of the Deputy Chairman in the Delhi Assembly will continue today. The session of Delhi Assembly will start at 11 am today. A member may raise some important issues in the House under a special mention (Rule 280). This will be followed by the election of Deputy Chairman.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has proposed the name of Mohan Singh Bisht for the post of Vice President, which will be supported by Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Anil Kumar Sharma will also present this proposal, which will be supported by Gajendra Singh Yadav. Apart from this, discussion on the CAG report on liquor policy in Delhi will also continue. The report was kept in the House on 25 February.
There is less chances of uproar in the House after 21 out of 22 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party are suspended. However, the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs may continue to perform out.
