BJP called Kejriwal a ‘Chunavi Hindu’ (L). AAP responded with calling Amit Shah a ‘Chunavi Musalmaan’ | X
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday (January 7) called Home Minister Amit Shah ‘Chunavi (electoral) Musalmaan’ in what appeared to be a tit-for-tat reply for Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Chunavi Hindu’ jab at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal few days ago.
AAP posted an image from its official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The image features Shah wearing what appears as a woolen cap and traditional Muslim attire. The edited image of Amit Shah features in front of imagery of a mosque.
The words ‘Chunavi Musalmaan’ feature prominently at the top of the image projecting it to be a movie of that name. Shah has been called producer and director of the movie, which the image says features Rohingya, Bangladeshi, Maulavi, Maulana, Imam, Waqf Board.
The image also suggests that BJP only thinks of Muslims when elections are around the corner.
The post from AAP came a week after one by BJP which showed Arvind Kejriwal in the look of Rajpal Yadav from the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
In the post BJP has claimed that Arvind Kejriwal was trying to woo Hindu voters just because Delhi elections are around the corner.
The post claimed that AAP government in Delhi was announcing benefits for Hindu priests and Sikh Granthis just to lure them into voting for AAP.
Delhi elections are expected to take place next month. Currently AAP has near-total hold on Delhi Legislative Assembly. The assembly has 70 seats out of which AAP has 58. The BJP has 7 seats while 5 seats are vacant.
