The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday (January 18) alleged that former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s car was attacked during election campaigning. The party has alleged that supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Parvesh Verma threw a brick at Kejriwal’s car. Verma was also campaigning at the time.

AAP took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to post video and images purportedly showing a stone being thrown at Kejriwal’s vehicle.

Parvesh Verma on his part, made a counter-allegation that Kejriwal’s vehicle ‘ran over’ a BJP worker. Verma even claimed that the party worker broke his leg and he was admitted to Lady Hardinge Medical College.

“The car of Arvind Kejriwal has gone ahead by crushing the worker of the BJP. The leg of the worker (BJP) has broken and I am going to the Lady Hardinge Medical College to inquire about his health…This is very shameful,” said Verma as quoted by ANI.

Delhi Legislative Assembly Elections are just around the corner. Elections will be held in one phase on February 5. Currently AAP has overwhelming majority in the assembly.

Out 70 seats, AAP has 58 in its kitty while BJP has 7. Five seats are vacant. BJP is trying hard to make inroads into AAP’s strongholds.
